As mentioned in our previous article, the women’s circuit has produced a fascinating paradox. Brea/Triay appear to be stronger than Josemaría/Sánchez, who are in turn stronger than Fernández/Bea. Yet, Fernández/Bea have consistently made life extremely difficult for Brea/Triay. A unique mix of playing styles, motivation, and circumstances has created a situation where there is no single clear favorite.
Brea/Triay – Slightly Ahead of the Rest
At the midway point of the season, Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay lead the standings. From the very start, they proved they could find solutions against the reigning champions, Josemaría/Sánchez. If not for their struggles against former teammates Fernández and Bea González, they would likely be the undisputed favorites at this stage.
Their consistency and ability to adapt to different rivals have given them a slight but crucial advantage over the competition.
Josemaría/Sánchez – Champions Out of Form
The reigning champions, Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría, look far from the form that made them nearly unbeatable last year. Their performances this season have been marked by inconsistency, and even when playing well, they no longer display the dominance that defined their title-winning run.
They remain dangerous, but they no longer carry the aura of invincibility.
Fernández/Bea – The Breakthrough Pair
The revelation of the season has been the pairing of Claudia Fernández and Bea González. If they manage to cut down their unforced errors, they could realistically challenge for the number one spot.
At just 19, Fernández has already made enormous progress compared to last year, proving she belongs among the elite while still having huge potential for growth. Meanwhile, Bea González seems to have overcome her history of injuries and has found her rhythm again. She has become, if not the very best, then certainly one of the two best left-side players on the circuit.
The Rest of the Field
So far, the other pairs are still far from the level of the top three. While competitive, they haven’t shown the consistency needed to threaten for titles.
What is certain, however, is that the second half of the Premier Padel 2025 women’s season promises to be just as exciting, with plenty of battles still to come.
